Data Residency

This page is a plain-language summary while our formal policy is finalized. If anything here is unclear, just email us.
Where your data lives today
SchoolBridge runs on cloud infrastructure (Vercel for the application, Supabase for the database) that is not hosted inside Ethiopia today. We know some schools and partners -- including guidance we've encountered while working on our Fayda National ID integration -- expect data to be hosted in-country, and we're actively looking into what that would take. We'll update this page once that's resolved either way, rather than leaving it unclear.
Each school's data stays separate
Every school's records are kept isolated from every other school's on the platform, enforced at the database level, not just in the app's screens. A school never has access to another school's data.
Ethiopian data protection law
We intend to operate consistently with Ethiopia's personal data protection law as our compliance work matures. This is an ongoing process, not something we're claiming is fully certified today -- if you need something specific for your school's own compliance purposes, please reach out and we'll work through it with you directly.
